Same reasons as always: Software, ecosystem. And apparently it's the best option for people who want cellular networking. But I agree that the Nexus 10 has impressive hardware specs at a good price.

One quibble with your table, the CPU in the A6X SoC is not a cortex A9. It's a custom CPU design based on the ARMv7 instruction set codenamed "Swift". Also, we don't know what clock it runs at, but 1.3-1.6 GHz seems likely.

I'm looking forward to a Swift vs A15 showdown, actually. From what I gather, A15 is expected to outperform Swift per clock, while Swift is expected to perform much better in terms of performance per watt. A15 was actually designed to bring good performance per watt to the server space, so it's optimization is a little off-target here.

Edit: Oh yeah, and you mean iPad 4th gen.
