I really don't think the price is that much of an issue. As in I don't think it's terribly overpriced.
I'm pretty sure MS isn't trying to compete with cheap tablets; they're trying to compete with the high end ones and are priced appropriately.
Sure, everyone wants to buy more product for less, but in this instance, I think the consumer is pretty much getting exactly what they're paying for.
The only thing that seems overpriced is the $129 keypad cover.
