I will say yes to the cold war. So they have only saved the world once. WW1, WW2 America was part of an allied force. So its 1 save and 2 asists.

While this goes off-topic; It is indeed still debatable.

In the first World War the Americans were barely involved, and the war only ended because Austria didn't want to go on anymore leaving Germany in the dark, who were then forced to ceasefire because they were beginning to get internal problems.

World War II was 100% a group effort, if one of the three 'main allies' (Russia, US or Britain) would have fallen out things likely would have gone quite differently. Even still, looking at the total number of casualties, the allied victory could be called pyrrhic at best.

And the Cold War wasn't even a real war, they were just badmouthing each other.
