Definitely. I think it was Darry (Dallas) saying it at the end of the story. It's become a meme of sorts in recent years.
*edit* looks like I need to watch it again, too! My GF just told me that Darry (Darrell) and Dallas (Dally) are two different people!
*2nd edit* and Wikipedia says that it wasn't Darry or Dally that said "Stay gold". It was Johnny! See. That's what years of binge drinking will do to your memory!
