That's damned impressive, especially given that the recent Nintendo numbers show that it's higher than expected in Europe so it probably hit this milestone a while ago.
That said, I still think that the huge "GT5 will hit 10 million" community we had in late 2010 was moronic. Absolutely none of them expected that the game would sell more in 2012 than in 2011 so the fact that their LT numbers were right is really just a coincidence.
Not to rain on your parade, though, :P.

Eh, 10 million was, and is, a realistic expectation, though. For it to have been "moronic", the predictions would have needed to be impossible or completely unlikely. We had a few, but it wasn't an uncontrolled mob of outlandish guesses.

OT: Good to see the title still going strong! 10 million may / may not be its final stopping point, but many didn't think 8 million was possible. I'm sure it will definitely land at 9 million sometime next year, however!

If you want, I can dig up all the prediction threads that missed its first week by like 20% and had an average prediction of considerably over 10 million. Also, I seem to remember people being given an unbelievable amount of hell merely for saying that they expected 8-9m for it.

I recall this quite clearly because I'm pretty sure my first post was in a thread like that where I tried to argue with someone about this. This is like déjà vu for me, xD.
