You really think that people don't play online games to beat eachother? That shows on the scoreboard! GTA and Skyrim, they have stories which give motivation to play the game. Sports and racing games go with the scoreboard/achievements category. You might be happy playing a funny game for nothing ie. saving the princess from a turtle over and over, but you are just one of the few. I certainly could not see myself driving around on mario kart without timekeeping or leaderboard. |
I never said those games didn't have points/story nor did I say points/story weren't motivations at all. I said fun gameplay is the main motivation to play those games.
