I played it for an hour and a half so far, 11.5% complete, already driven on over 25% of all the roads.
The driving is great. Once you are racing or simply driving to your next destination you easily get in the zone. Weaving through traffic and through corners at high speed while pushing the car to its limits feels awesome. The graphics are top notch too. Most of the time you're too busy looking at the road ahead, but when you look around you're greeted by sprawling vistas with lots of detail.
However the presentation and festival stuff is annoying. Think a smaller version of TDU2 with a festival inserted. (a menu screen to drive in) The race progression is almost identical to TDU2. Combine that with stat tracking gone mental, NFS shift / DiRT style shaky camera intros and rewards and updates coming in every 2 seconds. It can be exhausting. (At least you can skip the cut scenes with the mannequins)
Most of the races have been laps so far. It seems the blue wristband level has some more point to point races. Hopefully there will be some long cross map races in whatever color wristbands come later.
More then multiplayer seems to be locked behind gold too. It gave me a car reward for playing the demo, but when I tried to download it, I got an error after 30 seconds, gold required. I tried photo mode which gives you 2 options, a simple screenshot or a 8.3mp photo. I tried the Hi-res one, which for some reason can only be uploaded to forza.net (not saved locally) It produced an error after a minute rendering, gold required.
Anyway the driving is awesome, the graphics look great, yet the map feels a bit small and single player a bit underwhelming. The game might get stale pretty soon if you're not interested in or don't have access to multiplayer.
