Chrome OS is not Android. It's a simplistic OS that does all tasks that the average consumer would need to do (Homework, email, and browsing). It does require internet connection though.

It may visiually look like Windows, but it is different. No windows program will run on it.

I was looking at Nexus 7 for my little cousin but i might look into this one now. The keyboard is certainly a bonus. Will have to see if it has an offline mode when not around internet.

You can't go wrong with neither! Price and features are a win for both.

In regard to Chrome offline, I don't think it's possible due to Google pushing it's cloud system :(
