I know what you mean... It's all about practice : I've been studying dutch since I was 8 and then I completely stopped using it at University. Now I can barely understand it when I hear one of my flemish colleague. On the other hand, I've always had to use english, at university or now that I'm working, and I feel much more comfortable with it (well, it's a bit easier and much more beautiful too)
