Something that I don't get is that what I'm getting from Halo 4 is that the Forunners are evil but in the books they aren't....what am I missing (I haven't read the latest Halo book though).

Well they are evil.....towards humanity. They kinda reduced our space faring society to cave man status, imposed genetic imprints to make us hostile towards eachother and therefore make it harder to unite as one, and put old spirits inside our ancestors to one day use us to fight the Flood.

The book Cryptum didnt portray the Foreunners as evil because it was told from their perspective. Offcourse they won't think themselves as evil. But in Halo Primordium, you really got the impression at least from the human perspective that the Forunners were loathed and hated by the ancient humans. They were abused like cattle from the Master Builder.

Only the librarian saw the potential and the good side to humans. Otherwise, Forerunners are considered evil.....from the human perspective mind you. And as a literal human being (you and me), we are obligated to hate them as well for what they did to fictional humans in the past :P

I suppose but I didn't think they were so against us that they would shoot first and ask questions later (although that may not be the case) and be portrayed as evil. But I suppose anything that attacks humanity would be considered evil plus the Forerunners must have been pretty surprised and threatened to wake up to humanity being the (known) dominant race in the galaxy.

@TADS: Still didn't work for me >_<

Edit: I have to say the MP maps in Halo 4 look REALLY good. About as good as Halo 3's (if not better) and soo much better than Halo: Reach's.
