Yeah I have read the books but as far as I could tell the books didn't portray the Forerunners as being evil. Either way I should reserve my judgement on this matter for when I finish Halo 4. I'm sure they will tie everything together quite nicely.

Yea I understand what your saying, why would they specifically use the word evil. While the forerunners have made questionable, sometimes reckless decisions they were not what you would think of as evil.

Maybe it has something to do with the Precursor from Cryptum? I havn't read Primordium yet but the timeless one seemed like a pretty evil badass mofo to me. Maybe were all consumed with the Didact when he is the real threat behind the scenes.
