Actually, the fact that both Nintendo and Microsoft gained market share over Sony was a huge win for both of them.  Fundamentally, that makes Sony the loser this generation, even if they end up outselling Microsoft.  They still will have lost so much market share between  console generations that no matter how you slice it, they're at the bottom this gen.
