I think you are overestimating exclusives. PSV can start rebuilding it's track based on shared releases with PSP, ports, and spin-offs. Yes, it's not the ideal way, and it could mean a slow recovery, but it's probably the only possibility PSV has.

OT: I thought Soul Sacrifice was 3rd party. Oh well.

It's made by Mavelous and directed by Keiji Inafume, but it's first party - Sony's IP, and simply the best thing Sony is making for the Vita, imo. But just one new IP (especially missing the critical holiday for Vita) can be a huge risk.

And I don't see a recovery following the same scenario you're discribing. Why? BEcause Vita reached a new low... in october. That's not recovery, that's falling. The same way it'll fall and have a second holiday worst than the first.

Not only that, isn't the game releasing about the same time as Monster Hunter 4?

Anyways, look, it will probably go even below in Japan, the 'post-holidays' weeks will be very rough for PSV. But it will eventually reach a level. Let's assume it's 5k, but it can easily grow to 8k~9k with more PSP/PSV releases. With eventual bumps from important games (Soul Sacrifice, there will definitely be more), and a price cut, it may crawl to a decent number enough to guarantee the expected titles like Monster Hunter Portable.

Lol at the "there are unnannounced games".
