I have a simple NVidia GT230 1.5gb gpu and the hdd is the limiting factor.

It might be different for Adobe though. Pinnacle can do 99% of the effects real time in the preview screen while I'm editing, so good enough for my needs. I turned background processing off which works faster in the end because of less HDD access. 4 cores, 8 threads all trying to do their own disk access, doesn't take a genius to see how that goes :)

I wouldn't mind playing around with Adobe Premiere CS6 for a while, but not for $799,- ouch.
