Sony once again teased gamers with another sneak peek at their big reveal coming tomorrow. It is clear that whatever Sony is about to kick off; it is clearly PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale related. All three teasers contain Easter eggs of mascots who will be represented in PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale. The big question now is will Sony reveal some huge character in tomorrow's announcement?
Before we get started, yes I know that SuperBot Entertainment have already mentioned that the game will launch with 20 characters. While the roster is impressive and the game is fun, some of the highly requested characters apparently did not make the cut and with all the rumors, reveals, and hopes that one of these highly anticipated characters would show up; it never happened. Many people still hope there will be a major surprise in PlayStation All-Stars and Sony's reveal tomorrow may be the perfect time to do a surprise announcement.
I also fear that if nothing shocking is revealed tomorrow then all hope of a surprise character reveal will die. The day after Sony's big reveal there is a huge PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale event being held in LA, which promises plenty of surprises with the hands on demo of the final release code of the game. This means we will learn about more stages, updates, and pretty much everything about PlayStation All-Stars. The game also releases in Japan on November 8, 2012, which means it's only a matter of time before gameplay of the entire game will be revealed.
Now that all of that is out the way, lets discuss the above image that has been making it's way around the PlayStation community. The above picture is a behind the scenes look at the "Michael" trailer from Sony's viral Long Live Play campaign. There are a lot of familiar faces in the above picture as well as one in particular who did not seem to make the final cut. Strangely enough that character just so happens to be one of the most highly requested characters for PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale.
Was there a specific reason Sony cut Cloud from the "Michael" advertisement? We have brought up the fact that SuperBot even mentioned that the "Michael" trailer vaguely represented their game before it was officially announced. Sony possibly cut Cloud out due to people associating him with All-Stars and they wanted it to be a surprise, or they simply realized that the cosplay could look a little better without cheap Super Saiyan-esque hairstyle. All jokes aside, there has got to be some big reason Sony cut one of the most recognized characters in PlayStation history out of the "Michael" advertisement.
Sony appears to be using the same actors from the previous advertisement, and it is possible that we may see this Cloud make an appearance tomorrow. The clock is ticking and anticipation is building and whatever is revealed tomorrow will more than likely satisfy gamers regardless of a surprise character announcement. Stay tuned to DualShock Nexus for more PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale info.
