PS plus is worth it for cloud saving alone. If you upgrade your HDD you don't have to buy an external one to keep your copy-protected game saves. On top of that PS plus sometimes gets games that are so heavily discounted that they might as well be considered free ($1-$3). And you keep anything that you pay for even if your subscription expires. And in regards to the 'your only renting the games you get free' argument, if you like a game so much that you're still playing it a year later you can probably get it in the bargain bin by then.
