I expected IOS mobile much more influential than I thought. Desktops and netbooks are still killing Iphone and Ipad. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Usage_share_of_operating_systems#mw-head |
An excellent demonstration of why we aren't going to use web usage to settle this bet. Your first citation pegs Windows at 69% usage, your second at 92%. Neither tells us anything about units shipped.
Luckily, we have two products launching at nearly the same time, so hopefully a year from now both companies will be kind enough to share numbers with us.
smbu2000 already set you straight on the iPad numbers, but I'll note that we're just a few days from Apple's next quarterly report. It's quite possible that Apple has sold its 100 millionth iPad by now.
