Many of those who are most upset decided that the game wasn't fun on the day it was announced, and quite a few of those will seek out and play the game with the sole purpose of being able to say, "I played it and it wasn't fun."
Arguing against them will be a waste of time. The best revenge will be if the game really is fun. Fingers crossed for fanboy angst.
