But why not just add it? There's no negatives to having CGC. I have no idea what's involved in the process of implementing it but surely it's far from a big task?

I'm sure they can add it later. Some one not buying the Wii U solely on missing cross game chat feature at launch probably wasn't going to buy it anyways. Remember Wii added the sd card channel, and increased it to SDHC during the middle of the Wii's lifetime. Also, the 3DS didn't even have an eshop at launch. Having cross game chat on day 1 of launch isn't a big fucking deal. It is just a small minority that acts like it is. There is a thing called a system update.

the big fucking deal is that nintendo's next gen system is lacking a very basic feature standard in current gen consoles.

I'll read the rest of your statement but when you first start with a sentence like that then that is a pretty bad stance. You do realize cross game chat is only on the 360. The PS3 doesn't even have it... So 1/3 current gen systems having cross game chat makes it a very basic feature.
Reading further so the Wii U Pro controller doesn't have a mic plug is a big issue? You realize that there are 4 USB ports on the system. You can have a USB mic for one and there is possiblity the system might even support bluetooth.
