This made me think of when the Cabbage Patch Kids were so popular that mothers were fighting each other for them. Wouldn't surprise me if Sony could find a market for these in stores separate from the game. Probably too expensive to do a tie-in with McDonald's HappyMeals or something like that, but maybe little ones built in some low cost way (like hard plastic) and then fabric ones sold separately.
