Stop this already! I dont know how people even believe in this, using you bodyweight might be much harder than lifting weight... Nothing is better to build a upper body than Bodyweight exercises, as for legs its better have weights sure. Legs - Squats, Lungues, Dead Lifts, Pistol Squats. Upper Body : Dips, Pull ups, Chin Ups, Muscle Ups, Push Ups, Bench Press are some of the best exercises to build muscle... You see those guys or hanniball for king or many more wich only use BW and they have way better bodies than 99% of non steroid people on gyms. |
Ome of the main reasons it's not recommended for doing body weight workouts over lifting heavy is because you need to constantly lift heavier to gain mass. Unless you are using weighted belts on thos pull ups you will most likely become cut and ripped. Let me put it this way. Brad Pitt is an ectomorph and was up to 160 for the movie fight club. A lot of his training was using lower weights and then keeping his body fat at a low percentage. When he gained 25 lbs for the movie Troy do you know what he did? He lifted heavy and ate in his bulk phase and then cut and maintained his muscle that he gained. He had a professional trainer and there is a reason they chose to lift heavy rather than to do body weight. Sure you can gain muscle by doing body weight but it will not be as effective as lifting heavy.
