Not really. In aus we have the A-league (which is pretty poor quality). Sydney FC, who are not even our best cub beat LA galaxy in a friendly 5-2, and they have david beckham. i have had a hate to american footbal ("soccer") ever since the american coach said Australia were in the 06 world cup to make up numbers. (funny thing is we made it further)
