Yea, cuz of the Nine Tailed Fox sealed within him, which almost annihilated the Hidden Leaf Village, but the 4th Hokage(who fucking owns IMO, my favorite character in the whole Naruto Story) did a Jutsu to seal the Nine Tailed Fox withing Naruto, which required his sacrifice.
