There are only a few churches that teach that about divorce.
Unfortunately, divorce is taken both too lightly and too extreme by churches. Some don't teach against it, and others teach that you'd go to hell for it. Both are mostly wrong.
Divorce is something that Christians should avoid at all costs, when possible. There are only a scant few places that its allowed - adultery mostly. Unfortunately, most churches don't teach that.
If you have a big deal with that in regards to what the church teaches, then I suggest going elsewhere. I am sure there are many churches in your area that may be more scripturally appropriate - and maybe have better coffee.
