Honestly, if you want a career, go Navy.

I have a friend that got certified to work on a reactor on a nuclear sub. He did his tours, and did very well at his job.

Once he got out, he got hired on as a reactor technician at a major nuclear power plant. He's making somewhere between $200,000 and $300,000 USD, and he's about 25-26 years old.

I am sure you can get a great career from being in the air force, but it won't be from being a pilot, honestly. There are too many people in the commercial sector. You'd be better off with helicopters (but thats Army and Marines), or working on becoming an astronaut.

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.
