I have to agree with this. Neither my step-son nor my daughter (both 360/Wii owners - different homes) have the slightest interest in Vita, nor 3DS for that matter.   My daughter wants a tablet (and she's an avid FPS/3rdPS player) and my step-son has one already.  

While it's absolutely true tablet games are not as good, they are good enough  for most people and do a ton of other things exceptionally well.   The games are also free or cheap which is a huge plus for those without disposal income (or even many of us working folk who have more pressing things to spend money on).

Vita is a dinosarur? You sure you're not talking about the 3DS?

Vita does everything a smartphoen can do, except make calls. Yes, there are tons of free games on the app stores on phones, but Vita is getting there.

Smartphones don't seem to be affecting the 3DS too much, why would they affect Vita? Vita is superior to the 3DS in every way, all it needs is some big games. I see people say that "we dont' want watered down console-style games" yet if you look at the best selling Vita game.....it's Uncharted Golden Abyss.
