There is nothing wrong with my tv, I play on a 1080p projector, 92" screen, carefully calibrated. Arcadey is not a bad thing, but I had expected a bit more punishment from driving into cars and guard rails. I misjudged a corner and bounced of the inside of a competitor and moved up 4 places in the pack.
I only had 20 minutes to play so far, and I can't wait to play some more because the driving is great. So it's doing that part right :) I'll switch the 360 to 720p this time and let the projector do the upscaling. That had cleaner results with Alan Wake. I'll get used to the graphics, it takes a little time when blowing 720p games up to that size.

Well we differ greatly. I own HP and Dirt 3 and they are very far off in visuals. Both in car detail and massively on ligting.
So we may as well stop with each other. LOL. We definately wont agree here.
orizon destroys those racers easy visually. Owning both GT5 and Forza 4 also horizon beats those visually also imo. Fairly easily.

It's just an initial impression though, I've only seen a tiny part of the world at 1 time of day.
I didn't even look at car detail, not my thing. Dirt and HP had better demos, starting off with a brown track with heavy bloom is not my idea of an eye pleasing demo. Of course it's also the end of the gen, improvements are pretty small now.
Opinions differ, the lighting model in GT5 is far more pleasing to my eye then Forza's, and Forza Horizon may have very good anti aliasing in 720p, but since I play in 1080p it all tends to look a bit soft after the conversion.
I can't wait to play more anyway as soon as the kids have gone to bed, see what else the demo can offer. I'll finish Dishonered another time.
