The automatic assumptions that this is a doom thread are fairly amusing, but this isn't one. Not really, at least.
If you'll notice, pretty much all of the people they've quoted are all from tech analysis, marketing companies and asset holding groups. They're speaking from the standpoint of the market and are predicting what's going on, likely for investors and customers who pay them to try and figure out what's going to happen in the near future. They're basing their assumptions on reasonable facts that lowered prices from MS and Nintendo and not from Sony leads to more people buying the lower priced things. This isn't exactly college level economics or even all that provocative. I'm almost sure they don't give a crap about the 'console war' and what not.
