Microsoft Kinect: Why it failed to do what it was supposed to do even though it was successful

Kinect is a casual machine first and foremost.

You use it to voice command the marketplace to get what you want fast, you use it to command your media, video chat, now you can use it with Internet explorer. Its a party accessory with games like Dance Central.

Kinect makes using your 360 easier and can give parties a nice twist. Bottom line. Core gamers can do those above functions. But it was never meant for core games.

Its fine with me, because I believe you need casuals to elevate your console to mass market status.
