The bible is a collection or writings that has had vast historical, cultural, and societal impacts. It's not a story, it is seperate books. Some of which are based in history, some based in mythology. You don't have to be gullible to believe the bible, but you do have to be stupid to just jump on the bandwagon of "The bible is just a stupid story" and not do your own indepented research, and look up how it makes sense in relation to ancient mythology and history.

I've done my research, I also used to study the Bible within a group of believers when I was an agnostic, that very research (and world tarvel) is what brought me to the conclusion that it is total nonsense and apart from the gullable and foolish only people that are too stubborn to listen and look at the facts with an open mind believe these days.
It's the equivelant of a toddler putting their fingers in their ears when they don't want to hear something and shouting 'NA NA NA NA NA NA NA NA'.

What research did you do? Obviously not much if you think the bolded is true. Did you research the bibles roots in history? Did you research the origins of the genesis story and it's relation to fact? Did you research ancient religions and how judaism, then christianity came about? Or did you just research pro-atheist sources that told you everything you wanted to hear? Or something inbetween? I highly doubt you understand the bible at all. Just because stupid people take the bible at face value and believe it word for word, does not make the text any less valuable. Studying with a group of christian believers will not give you any insight into what the bible truly means, it will just give you recycled religious rhetoris. Try talking with people who actually know the bible, not christians.
