The theory of the genesis of life by the Christian god is entirely false, for one. |
No. The interpretation of it by many Christians is wrong. Genesis is written in an easy way for people to understand. It is not litteral, though many Christians take it to be litteral and thus make themselfs look foolish to the rest of the world. If you read it in the forms of science being dumbed down for people who had very little education, because life at the time was focused on working hard to put food on the table it can not be easily dismissed.
In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. - The big bang. Heavens = Universe. Earth = Earth
And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters. And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament: and it was so. - The creation of the Earths atmosphere
And God said, Let the waters under the heaven be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land appear: and it was so. - The formation of the planet through volcanic eruption and water erosion and shifting crust which created valleys on the Earth so the whole thing isn't covered by water.
And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so. - From single cells plant life began.
And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also. - Earth falls in orbit around the Sun, Moon falls in orbit around the earth.
And God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that hath life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven. - Evolution of animals from the water, to land, to air.
And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. - The evolution of humans.
