I think I might have voted wrong. I assumed by "outlast" you meant the PS3's YTD total. If so, then yeah, I think the PS3 will finish up a few hundred thousand units on the 360. If you meant just for the holidays, then no, the 360 is going to be strong from Shooter Season to the end of December.
I think Sony is going to start advertising the new SS bundles soon, probably when back-stock on the older models is mostly depleted. I also anticipate a cheaper stand-alone model closer to Xmas; if so, then that's going to help a lot. However, Microsoft always drops big holiday promotional deals this time of year, which will push units pretty well, as will Halo and CoD.
You know, though, we always talk about the 360 being more profitable than the PS3, even considering the billions the RRoD fiasco cost, but I can't help wondering what the average selling price for the 360 has been. A LOT of 360s have been moved during promotions, especially $50 off promotions as with this year and last. Although, that $50 might not all be on Microsoft's end, as matching buy-ins aren't uncommon at retail. We used to do a lot of "we'll sell you skdjfs at X price if you retail them for Y amount," which basically split the reduction.
