Long Controller Battery Life
As a PS3 owner, I can attest to the importance of a long-lasting battery since I hate plugging my controller in and having to game on USB. Usually, I get about 6-7 hours of gameplay out of my Dualshock PS3 controller, and I would imagine the Xbox controller has a similar battery life. The Wii U Pro Controller, according to a recent Eurogamer report, will last a stunning 80 hours! Yes, you read that correctly. Sony and Microsoft, please take notice when you go to design the controllers for your next consoles.

Yeah, what utter bull crap and somewhat misinforming that is though. We'll experience most games and content using the Gamepad, which has a 3 to 5 hours battery life (with a 2.5 hours charge time). Not 80. 3 to 5 hours is really quick. You'll nearly have to think about putting it on charge every time you end a play session.
As for the rest of what's discussed, everything is still on paper. We'll see how it will all pan out once the system is released. There's a lot of novel ideas, but only time will tell if they'll have any lasting value.

They were talking about the wii u pro controller, not the gamepad

Yeah, hence the reason why I pointed out that pointing out that calling the long battery life of the Pro controller as a definitive plus from which Sony and MS should learn from is misinforming since most games will be played on the system's main control method, the Gamepad, which has at best a 5 hours battery life. A shorter battery life than the PS3 and 360's controller. Yeah sure, it has a screen and all other kinds of tech, but the point still stands.
Try to follow.
This "article" is a grasping at straws fest.
