>Or that they dumped Sony?

they dumped sony because their own game sucked?

Please, dump Sony anytime they want. And maybe Port that bloody game to 360 while they are at it. ;)

No dumped Sony because they decided that developing for the PS3 does not work for them, Lair sucked and they could quite plausibly blame Sony for making poor dev tools and for making them publish the game before it was polished.

I can't really see Factor 5 choosing to rely solely on the gyroscopes in the sixaxis for control being the fault of Sony...

Scenario 1: Sony, in early 2007, having seen the amazing success and huge amount of press surrounding the wii's motion controls, is desperate to show that the PS3 sixaxis also has that capability. What better way to showcase that capability than a flying dragon game that uses that control? Now wiisports only had motion controls with no buttons able to substitute and that worked really well for them so why can't it work for Sony and Lair?

Factor 5 is an independent studio, so why would they be the ones Sony would pin this task on?  Why wouldn't they have made motion controls mandatory in Warhawk instead?  That was they game they used to show off the Sixaxis at all the major press events to begin with, and it is owned and developed by Sony.
