Why is Nintendo always portrayed as the company deemed to fail?

Don't worry: SONY fans just don't have skins as thick as Nintendo fans, so even though the number of doom and gloom articles isn't, yet, a cottage industry as it is with Nintendo products (and it is still a cottage industry as you noted with the U), they'll gradually get used to it. Or not.
