I somehow can understand that reasoning

OK History lesson.

The EU (which has won this award) was formed in 1993 (the EU is NOT the EEC).  NATO was formed 1955.  So to correct your post:

First half of last century (no NATO) - death toll from European wars probably more than 100 million
Second half of last century (with NATO) - death toll from European wars probably below 10 million

You can hardly commend the EU for the second half of the centry peace when it only existed for 7 years in the last century! lol

care to rethink and recomment?

I'm sorry but you are wrong. The EEC, formed in 1957, was incorporated into the EU. The EU consists of the 3 pillars EWG(EEC) (1957), EGKS (1951) and EAG(1957). Those are the germen abbreviations, I'm too lazy to look the english ones up now. The EU is pretty much just the unification of those former independent institutions.

I agree though that this price should go to someone who personally fights for peace and not a faceless institution. Obama was bullshit too btw.

Ongoing bet with think-man: He wins if MH4 releases in any shape or form on PSV in 2013, I win if it doesn't.
