Though yeah... the point is.   You aren't an independent on the basis of what people mean when talking about independents... and for all intents and purposes are a Democrat.

When people talking about "winning over independents" they mean people who can see the pros and cons of both parties.

You are assuming I agree with Republicans on nothing which is compleatly wrong. I actually tend to believe in stronger immagration laws like most of the right and in almost no gun control like most of the right. I also thought that when liberals made smoking in bars illegal in my state it was an over the top view and an example of government taking too much control. In my mind though, there are hardly any pros in Republican thinking especially in the Christian right. Truthfully, the Christian right makes the whole party look bad to me and therefore not worthy of consideration.

Still there are tons of independants I have meet that only vote for one party in the two party system.  So I hardly think that I am a rarity no matter what definition you would like to hold on what an independant actually is.

Being a republican or democrat doesn't mean you have to agree with every single little thing they agree with.

Hell, not even all Republcians or Democrats in congress agree with every issue on their national platform.  (Though granted, that has been shrinking lately.)
