And, I agreed that Drake's hardly iconic (though I wouldn't call him generic either), but you could take Master Chief out of Halo and it is still...well...Halo. I think if you took Drake out of the Uncharted series, many of its fans would be turned off and it wouldn't be a true Uncharted game without him. We'll likely never find that out since Drake will always be there, though. Much like Mario, Sonic, Donky Kong, and Pac-Man, who's names made their IPs as great as they are. I think without Drake, Uncharted wouldn't be viewed in the same manner.

The funny thing is they've already done that.

LOL. And look at all the sales of the 3 non MC Halo games in comparison. Proof the character as a meaning outside the games hes in.

Halo 4 will further confirm this with my prediction of the highest Halo game sales.

Interestingly GTA sold more with a change of character. Meaning the character meant nothing.
