Why would Microsoft have an edge? They had the lowest sales rate of the generation and the lowest installed base despite launching a year before the others. Yes, they've done very well taking market share in North America and their stategy of buying DLC seems effective, but the Xbox brand hasn't caught on world-wide. I think they might be more at risk of losing ground. They have to come out strong. Nintendo and Playstation, however, have proven they can survive awful starts as brands.
Regardless, a new generation is anyone's game. We never know what's going to happen.
