I'm also worried about the "super kills" mechanic since I love the ring outs in Smash I think they shouldn't have change it or at least put a ring out type of match in the game.
I played a Smash clone with anime characters some years ago for the PS2 and it had a "super kill" mechanic and it wasn't fun so I'll decide after the public beta.
By the way 20 characters is probably the basic roster and 10 more characters will be unlockable.
