Luke and Leia being brother and sister, raised apart for the first 19 years of their life. The first movie (ep IV) and very beginning of the second (ep V) implied romance between them, while their being siblings was not revealed until midway through the third (ep VI)
Where the fridge logic kicks in is the fact that four years separate episodes IV and V. One wonders if any hanky-panky didn't go in in that space.
