The 3ds is outselling the DS at this point in its cycle, so yes. People are just making up a bunch of random fear against smart phones. Handheld dedicated gaming devices are selling higher than they ever have. So are consoles. Sure you had the PS2 do 150 million or something last gen, but the gamecube, dreamcast, and original xbox didn't sell a whole lot. This gen is a lot more evenly spread out. The Xbox 360 and PS3 are close to each other and the Wii is ahead. If you count total units sold this console gen compared to last gen it shows more units were sold this gen than last gen already. Handheld gaming devices have sold more units this gen than last gen too. iOS isn't a factor, and you can't use raw sales figures as someone who bought an iphone or android phone might have bought a 3ds. (Which I know people who have, so that proves it right there). This whole impending doom thing on the games market is silly. The 3DS is doing just fine and will be doing even better in the following years. I agree that the VIta is doing acceptable. Especially when you look at its competition.
