The thing is, Famitsu used to give out only one 40/40 per console. The last console to follow this strict rule was PS2 and the game that got the 40/40 was FFXII. Since the DS, they have changed their scoring policy. Now loads of games can get 40/40 on just one console. have you seen how much 40/40 games there have been in the last 4 years?

That's why I say that FFXII was the last game that really deserved the 40/40. It was the last game judged by Famitsu's harsh scoring policy.

You really have nothing to back up what you're saying. You like FF12 so it's last one that deserved it?

Famitsu never changed their scoring policy, and they've been averaging 1/year for a while now.

1 - They have most likely changed, since scores now are much higher than before ( that nullifies the "never"). Famitsu started publishing in 1986. Until 2001 there were 6 games 39/40. From 2001 foward there are 27, not counting the explosion of perfect scores recently.

2 - Make that 3 per year. Only recent year that scored one perfect is 2012 (Kid Icarus) and the year is not over - pretty sure there will be more.

Marcus Beer (from Gametrailers) said in one of the previous Invisible Walls that he has proof famitsu scores are bought, that it's a very known fact in the industry. He worked on that area, PR.
