Did you know Donkey Kong in DK Country Returns is a 2D character?

As far as I know in terms of videogames  2.5d is usually a three dimensional video game restricted to two dimensional movement/gameplay etc

Otherwise Donkey Kong Country for the SNES would also be 2.5d right?.
