There is still frustration and resentment at those places at state of modern game. When I was at Saint James guy next to me stated "forty quid? should be payin us ta watch this bollox" (did not help Manchester United were winning). Friend of mine use to go to Anfield every home match, now due to high costs he watches in the pub majority of weeks. The kop was twice the size it is now when it was terrace and more affordable (course...the cramped conditions did lead to the "yellow mersey" so can see why some folks might be turned off...but sod them all. ;) )
I don't mock or belittle the English. They have a proud history in the sport, and the costs has grown so high can not expect working class to show up like they use to.
