Dark Souls has sold 1.6m in just about only 1 year. (Not counting the recently launched PC version)
Demon's Souls has been out 3.5 years in Japan, 3 years in the US, and 2.5 years everywhere else and has sold 1.6m.
Dark Souls should see 3m when it's all said and done. I think what should be up for debate is what it's lifetime sales will be, and do they, then, justify multiplatform. Not current numbers.
