the disk reader in my ps3 broke down, HELP :(

first you should make sure there is no disc inside the PS3 as obviously then the PS3 wouldn't take another disc - I'm sure you already did that, but yea, sometimes people neglect the most obvious step

if that's out of the way, what symptoms do you have? does it beep if you try to insert a disc? does the blu-ray drive make a noise like it's pulling in a disc right after you start up the PS3? does the drive sound like its pushing out a disc if you press eject?

i would like to have believed that, but thats how i broke my last ps3 it took a second disc, ejected them both ok though but it never read discs after that, i just use it to play games off the hdd now as a spare.
