but you shouldnt have the right to mock and insult millions of people's beliefs.

So we shouldn't criticise racism? Because millions of people believe in the superiority of one race over another.

What about the belief that women are inferior beings? Nope, can't criticise that either, it's a belief held by millions.

If nothing bad is ever said, nothing good will ever get done.

This is generally true.

Muslims in some countries have totally different priorities to the west.

A woman being beheaded, whipped or rape doesn't cause a stir and  is no big deal but to insult the prophet is.

No one goes out to riot or protest ( at least as far as I know ) against cold blooded suicide bombers killing thousands of their people but do when islam is protrayed in a way not to their liking.

One other thing is that the system of religious tolerance employed by some western countries can prove to be dangerous and counter productive.

Christianity - and to a certain degree Judaism -  is allowed to be ridicule but you cannot offend muslims, hindus, etc.,

The BBC will happily attack christianity but treat islam like it is truly the word of god.

Tom Holland attacked christianity - no big deal. Channel 4 broadcast an "anti-muslim" documantary on his book and he is threatened and the show is cancelled.

I heard on the radio of a NY newpaper that refused to publish a christian religious advert but gladly did it for muslims - I cannot validate this as truth.

I understand setting a good example to the rest of the world is important but to revererence one religion above the other is not the way forward. Neither is bending over backward to appease one set believers because they are more vocal and aggressive.

It is almost akin to reverse religious-aparthield. You cannot protect one religion and allowed another to be laughed at because the believers are more tolerable.

Either ban all negative comments on all religions or allow the freedom for all to be to attacked equally.
