I agree with you. Going into any game with expectations and assumptions is grounds for me to ignore a review. I see it a lot, a reviewer says that they got something different from previous games, then proceeds to trash it based on that comparison. A reviewer should definitely note the differences, but the actual review should be of -that particular game-, not of previous games in the franchise.
