Microsoft studio 343 Industries, in conjunction with Anderson Merchandisers, is releasing its upcoming webseries Halo 4: Forward Unto Dawn on Blu-ray. The series will premiere on Halo Waypoint and Machinima.com on October 5th, arrive weekly for five weeks, and ultimately arrive on Blu-ray on December 4th.

The live-action movie, which acts as a prequel to the popular Halo videogame series, was made to "make Halo accessible for people who haven't played the games," says 343 Industries' Franchise Business Management Director, Matt McCloskey. Of course Halo's Master Chief makes his presence known in the film, played by Daniel Cudmore (Colossus, X2: X-Men United) and voiced, as always, by Steve Downes.

In 2525, as mankind has begun to colonize space, a group of cadets are training to fight against human insurrectionists. One of these cadets, Thomas Laskey, has doubts about his abilities as a soldier and his convictions for this war. Whilst he struggles with himself, the planet is invaded by an unknown alien race. Reeling under the assault, Laskey and his squad mates are rescued by John-117, one of the UNSC's legendary SPARTAN-II super-soldiers. John must inspire Laskey to fulfill his potential as a soldier and a leader to fight against an enemy deadlier than any that humanity has faced before.

No word on any of the Blu-ray edition's special features or technical specifications as of yet.

Damn, I wanna wait soooo bad and just watch it when it comes out on BR but I also wanna see it soooooo bad that I won't wait. At least I hope whatever extra episode that comes on the LE will be on the BR. I've decided to pass on the special edition this time around.

Also, I didn't think Downes was doing the voice for the movie.

I LOVE paying for Xbox Live! I also love that my love for it pisses off so many people.
